About WorkDeskLab — Built by a Remote Worker, for Remote Workers
I’m Daniel Shaw.
I’ve worked from home for over 7 years — through two apartments, one house, three desk setups, and more gear purchases than I care to admit.
WorkDeskLab started because I was tired of buying things that looked great in review videos but fell apart in real daily use. A monitor arm that wobbled every time I typed. A desk mat that curled at the edges after two weeks. A “ergonomic” chair that hurt my back more than my old dining room chair.
So I started testing everything myself — keyboards, desk organizers, document scanners, lighting setups, cable management systems — and writing up what I actually found.
No manufacturer relationships. No “best picks” based on whoever paid for placement. Just honest assessments from someone who spends 8+ hours a day at a desk and needs it to actually work.
What You’ll Find Here
– Buying guides based on real testing, not spec sheets – Setup guides for every budget and desk size – Honest comparisons between products that look similar on paper but feel completely different in use – Ergonomic advice for people who don’t want to read a 40-page research paper
Who This Is For
Whether you’re building your first home office, upgrading a setup you’ve outgrown, or just trying to stop losing pens and cables in a desk drawer — WorkDeskLab has a guide for that.
